DAY BY DAY
Meet your private driver or chauffeur-guide at the airport and travel into Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxed introduction to the journey, with time to rest after your flight.
Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress during the cooler morning hours, then explore the remarkable cave temples of Dambulla. Depending on your interests, include a village experience, local lunch or a quieter afternoon at your hotel.
Travel south towards Kandy, adding meaningful stops along the way where suitable. Arrive in Sri Lanka’s hill capital and explore the lake area, local streets or an evening cultural performance.
Begin with Kandy’s cultural highlights before travelling through winding mountain roads, waterfalls and tea-growing landscapes. A tea estate or factory visit can be included on the way to Nuwara Eliya.
Travel deeper into the hill country, with the option to take the scenic train towards Ella when suitable tickets are available. Arrive among mountain views and settle in for a relaxed evening.
Explore Ella at your preferred pace. Walk to Nine Arch Bridge, climb Little Adam’s Peak or choose a slower day with local food, viewpoints and time to enjoy the surrounding hills.
Continue to Colombo, the airport or your next destination. Timing and stops will be arranged around your onward plans, with the option to extend the journey towards wildlife or the southern coast.
